I'm giving Posterous one more try because 1) I'm getting sick and tired of Tumblr, 2) I need to talk about myself in more than 140 characters but not on my main blog and 3) I really like documenting my life even if nothing really happens in it. So, I merged my two Posterous blogs into one. Don't ask. And what can you expect from this new superblog? Like I said in the introduction of my The Story blog...
This, my Posterous blog, is where I tell you stuff about myself. The mundane details. The non-events. The stuff that some of my real life friends wouldn't even bother asking me about. Things that will probably bore you to death.
And I just quoted myself. High five?
My birthday wasn't as fun as I hoped for, and that's mostly due to Tropical Storm Ketsana ravaging Metro Manila and the surrounding provinces. I still received a lot of things that made me happy, though.
Simple gifts, big impact on my emo side. I can't remember a more emotionally charged birthday in my life, and I am happy. :)
Thought about staying at our Ortigas Extension apartment last Friday night because I had a rough Thursday and I just wanted to chill and forget about everything, but I figured I can relax more at home in Sta. Rosa. Good choice because by Saturday morning, everything went to hell by way of Typhoon Ondoy. After lunch, flood water invaded our home. We're used to this type of shit so even though the water came in fast and furious, we efficiently saved everything that needed saving.
I was extremely pissed at myself because I didn't stock up on cigarettes, a must for me during cold weather. And we had no Internet because we had to unplug the DSL for safety reasons. Now that we've cleaned up the house and we're almost back to normal, I don't think we really had it that bad especially after I saw the news on TV and online. People were dying and losing their homes. We had it pretty easy and I'm thanking all that is holy for keeping my family safe albeit totally exhausted from moving stuff around.
My condolences go out to all the people who lost loved ones and their homes. My FUCK YOU goes out to Ondoy.
Before last night...
The last time I got drunk with unfamiliar people was 4 days ago. It feels nice that I'm meeting a lot of new people these days, but man, I miss my old drinking buddies.
The last time I gave someone a book was a few months ago. I don't know why, but I love giving people books.
The last time I gave someone flowers was way back in 2003. I don't know why, but I'm not into giving girls flowers.
The last time I surprised someone for their birthday was in 2004. It was a traumatic heartbreaking experience. I am nowhere near kidding. It explains why I was terrified last night. Again, I am not kidding.
The last time I knew what I was doing was... well, I guess before I met Trouble.
Hello. I'm Gino. Some people call me Baddie.
I post my thoughts and ideas, mostly stupid but slightly entertaining (I would like to think so), at Baddieverse. I post the amusing stuff I find on the Internet at Purveyor of Villainy.
This, my Posterous blog, is where I tell you stuff about myself. The mundane details. The non-events. The stuff that some of my real life friends wouldn't even bother asking me about. Things that will probably bore you to death. This is my story.
After a couple of posts that were autoposted to Twitter, FriendFeed, Plurk, Facebook (email post with an image attached didn't go through) and Tumblr, I've determined that Posterous is not a very efficient crossposter. Also, it doesn't support Multiply, which is a major deal breaker for me. I guess for now, Posterous is my backup shit dump site when Tumblr is down.
My judgment, as far as being a crossposter goes, is FAIL.
Miami, FL (AHN) – When the Old Testament writers warned about an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, they couldn’t have known about Sharron Thornton. The 60-year-old Mississippi woman now has a tooth for an eye after an unusual operation at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami.
In the first operation of its kind in the United States, surgeons removed one of Thornton’s canine teeth, coincidentally known as an eye tooth, shaped it, and attached a synthetic lens. The tooth-eye combo was then temporarily implanted into a pouch inside the woman’s cheek so it could grow a protective coating of living tissue. Finally, a hole was cut into Thornton’s left eye, where the tooth was implanted.
A tooth was used to reduce the chance for rejection.
Thornton began the series of procedures in March, and her bandages were removed over Labor Day weekend. She had been blind since a skin condition damaged her corneas nine years ago, and her doctors say she now has 20/70 vision in the eye.
One of the things Thornton can see now is the name for her procedure, osteo-odonto-keratoprosthesis. Now that’s a mouth full. Or is that eye full?
I've been looking for a service that will let me post my status updates and other microblogging shit to multiple sites all at the same time. My social networking control panel. My universal remote control for my twisted little corner of the Internet. I'm here to judge Posterous. Let's see what you've got.
